international board certified lactation consultant

An IBCLC provides skilled support to parents who are breastfeeding/chestfeeding or planning to do so. Lactation care can also include support around drying up milk supply, oral motor skills, exclusive pumping, donor milk, formula feeding, weaning, introduction of solid foods, bottle or breast refusal, and more.

While breastfeeding and chestfeeding are a natural process, they are not always intuitive or easy. Many parents do not inherently possess this skill and this is completely okay. Feeding is a learned relationship that often requires patience, support, and practice.

Lactation consulting is meant to empower. Not judge or pressure. My work blends evidence based lactation care with hands on body work, gentle assessment and deep respect for each family’s capacity. I offer clear information, thoughtful guidance, and practical assistance that honors both physiology and lived experience.

Together, we will problem solve feeding challenges with attention to regulation, comfort, and emotional safety for both parent and baby. Consults are always individualized with the goal of creating a feeding plan that is sustainable and supportive of your family. Not perfect or prescriptive.
